Holly Hunter is one of today's most versatile actresses. In 1994, she received the Academy Award? for her performance as a mute Scottish bride in Jane Campion's "The Piano." Her performance also garnered a Golden Globe Award and Best Actress honors from The British Academy, The New York Film Critics Circle, The Los Angeles Film Critics Association, The National Board of Review, and The Cannes Film Festival. That same year, Hunter was also nominated for an Academy Award? for her performance as the investigative secretary in "The Firm," based on the best-selling novel by John Grisham. In 1987, Hunter was nominated for an Academy Award? for her portrayal of a driven network producer in "Broadcast News."
